“Jenny Smells Like Biscuit” is a project about different people wearing the same fragrance. Initially conceived as a casting for a series of portraits, the project gradually took shape through email exchanges between the volunteer models and myself.

From the very first messages, I could already sense certain personality traits depending on the perfumes worn: exchanges around Chanel N°5 were polite and carefully written, while for Invictus, the men would spontaneously talk about their bodies and muscles.

These correspondences were already enough to draw implicit portraits, without any images.

I therefore chose not to pursue the photo shoot and instead to present these exchanges on pink paper, like love letters I had received.

This publication gathers a selection of messages from people wearing the same fragrances: L’Homme, 1 Million, Terre, Invictus, Le Mâle, Chanel N°5, L’Air du Temps, Angel, Opium and J’adore.
