Expanded Drops
A collaboration with Maison Francis Kurkdjian.
As a renowned perfumer and creator of olfactory installations in France and abroad, Francis Kurkdjian has been crafting fragrances for more than 25 years. His career has led him to collaborate with artists who add an unexpected sensory dimension to their work.
My recent encounters with Francis Kurkdjian were the chance to show him my experimental photography and visual representation of olfactory subjects.
Bringing a fragrance to life is an evocative and vibrant experience. A few drops of a perfume are laid on silver-colored paper, dried, exposed to light, and bathed in photo development fluids to reveal the image.
The “Expanded Drops” series is a selection of original photographic prints, all made using fragrances created by Francis Kurkdjian for his eponymous house.
